Meet up with Ms. Sayaka Kobayashi (Birigyaru)
Yesterday was my last day of work at Sapporo Shinyo High School. On that day, I had the opportunity to meet Ms. Sayaka Kobayashi, who is a well-known person in Japan! (https://www3.nhk.or.jp/sapporo-news/20240826/7000069344.html)
Sayaka Kobayashi's journey as a "birigyaru" (frying colors) challenges stereotypes about academic ability and appearances. Her story demonstrates that with the right motivation and support, even those perceived to be at the "bottom" can achieve great success. It has inspired many in Japan and has become a cultural reference for perseverance and transformation. Her lecture at Shinyo, which incorporated her personal experiences and her academic insights on motivation, must have been very beneficial for the students!!!
Once again, thank you so much for coming to Shinyo and looking forward to seeing you again, Sayaka-san!!
